The KNRM Helps app, developed by the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM), serves as a comprehensive tool for vessel registration and trip planning. The user-friendly interface facilitates both trip filing in Sail Plan mode and real-time tracking in Track Only mode, catering to diverse maritime needs.

The registration process is straightforward, allowing users to configure essential trip details such as vessel selection, Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), passenger count, and activity type. Additionally, the app offers the option to designate emergency contacts and choose both start and end points using integrated nautical maps, enhancing safety and preparedness.

Once a journey is initiated in Sail Plan mode, the app automatically alerts emergency contacts and relevant Search and Rescue (SAR) authorities if the trip exceeds the ETA, providing an extra layer of security. Users may easily switch to Track Only mode with a simple touch to begin tracking their journey, with regular position updates sent to KNRM's server throughout the trip.
